eskiebear @ : Exceptionally long time - The good and the bad.
The last time I did a post we just got back from Vegas at Labor Day. Quite a long time has passed since then and alot of things have happened.
After our return from Vegas, work life resumed by I had one doozy of a cold that lasted a very long time. Thanks to proper meds and rest, I get over the bulk of it but still have this pesky cough. I think I just contracted another minor cold and its just refusing to leave. In any event, I get my work done and pay my bills.
For Thanksgiving, Wayne and I flew to Kelowna to visit my mom and dad. We had a great time there as well as enjoyed very peasant weather. I did get to meet up with some friends of mine both from school and previous workplaces.
Back at work, alot of BS has come down the pipeline from our much educated yet extremely useless manager. Yeah.. I'm dissing my boss. A new employee was hired and he's a piece of work. A Binger Alcoholic and Attention Deficit Disorder. Doesn't have a vehicle to boot and I have to train this genetic loser when he decides to show up. He's already on his second strike for attendance and attitude. Dear God.
In addition, other departments have had their bonuses returned except us and we're the ones that make a large portion of the corporate profits. My manager tried to say it was all rumor but Wayne's bonus cheque stub is kind of concrete evidence to the contrary. What a liar I have for a manager. I almost hope he screws up again with his boss and the legal department so he can be turfed. I'm almost embarrassed to work for the fellow when he pisses someone off.
On some good notes: I bought a road navigator for my Jeep. I was going to buy another Sony Nav-U but they are discontinued. Sony didn't advertised them so they went by the way of Beta. Go figure. Anyway, I bought a Garmin Nuvi 265W. Its pretty cool and has up to date maps. The Bluetooth link is probably the best feature. I really do believe in hands-free cell communication.
My parents are going to be visiting us for Christmas this year. Wayne and I bought them airlines tickets as a kind anniversary and Christmas gift. They were going to just stay home but we love having them here and I have 2 weeks off during Christmas to spend with them.
Wayne and I got our names for his families Christmas draw. This year we have his nephew Terry and Terry's girlfriend Penny. They are engaged so we're thinking something fun for couples to do like Dinner Theatre tickets. I hope they like something like that.
I did put my Christmas lights up this year. It took a bit alot of ladder trickery but they're all up and they look good. Sweet. I'm so ready for the Christmas season.
